1. Keep Your Muscles Relaxed
During the cold winter months our muscles tend to contract and become stiff and tight leading to tension and pain. With regular movement and stretching we keep the muscles in a relaxed state and by doing yoga we stay mentally and emotionally calm too further helping our body to stay relaxed. Yoga also enhances body awareness so helps to be aware when we are wearing our shoulders on our ears!
2. Keep Your Immune System Healthy
By staying active and keeping our blood circulating well we strengthen our immunity helping us to not get colds and flu. By keeping the stress away we help our overall health including our immune system.
3. Stay Strong
Don’t let the strength you’ve built during the warm months dissipate by being a couch potato! Yoga helps with mental/emotional resilience too by helping us to feel more calm, lowering stress levels and improving self awareness and by grounding us into the present moment helping us to be more present both on and off the mat.
4. Stay Happy!
No brainer! Yoga makes you happy :) Keep the serotonin levels up!!! Keep the winter blues away – they can go play somewhere else with the flu bugs!
5. Be Kind To Others!
No one wants you to be grumpy! Stay happy and healthy and nice to be around! Also, the more people in a yoga class, the warmer it is! Please share your body heat!! ;)
